University of Winnipeg
Richardson College of the Environment and Science Complex
WINNIPEG OFFICE
The emerging facility, which is currently under construction, will be a $40 million doller state-of-the-art science complex for the University of Winnipeg and home to 2,000 science and environmental studies students. As a national leader in sustainable design, the College will be an innovative, high performance building to be used as a laboratory and research vehicle for sustainable building practices.
In addition, Number TEN is developing a concept master plan and budget to address the long term rehabilitation of facilities on the existing Campus. Innovative campus concepts including the ‘street commons, smart lounges and smart pods’ will be introduced.

Wascana Herchmer
Community School
REGINA OFFICE
A Number TEN collaboration with educational planners, Fielding Nair International. The new school incorporates three “Personal Learning Communities” that function as clusters of 120 students each. Each “PLC” contains instructional spaces adjacent to a learning commons, plus break-out rooms, kitchen, teacher collaboration space and home-like washrooms.
An all-school Commons at the heart of the school will be used for student presentations, gatherings and community events. Construction is scheduled to begin in Fall 2011. |

19 Wing
Comox Air Base
VICTORIA OFFICE
The Number TEN Victoria Office is developing prototype family housing units for military families stationed at the 19 Wing Comox Air Base. The prototype units consist of two duplexes and one 4 unit townhouse.
The prototypes will test a number of important aspects including: viability of the designs, occupant satisfaction, cost and proposed rents. The prototype will precede 90 additional replacement units planned to be constructed in the upcoming years. |
