Innovative Research in Sustainable Design
Manitoba Hydro has awarded research funding to Number TEN to design conceptual models of sustainable educational facilities for the Prairie climate. The firm will research innovative school building design precedents in similar climates including the northern United States, Alaska and northern Europe. We will work with the Public Schools Finance Board and independent energy consultants to develop and test models for energy efficiency. This is a very exciting opportunity for Number TEN to establish a leadership position in sustainable design on the Prairies.
The office is also establishing its own “green” internal template of sustainable design with a menu of options suitable for all clients. We are truly “greening” our practice.
