Number TEN has created the first environmentally sustainable animal shelter in Canada, and is expected to be recognized by the Canadian Green Building Council with
LEED® Gold certification. The 'green' design framework of LEED® took on an extra level of complexity in considering the human and animal resident interaction within
the building. The building features include enhanced water and waste management, superior air quality, geothermal heating and cooling, and minimal disturbance to the
site's natural environment.
