Abigail's Hotel Addition
Built in 1930 as a tudor-revival-style apartment building, Abigail’s Hotel combines a unique heritage atmosphere with contemporary hospitality design features to create a one-of-a-kind guest experience. Since opening in 1985, the boutique-bed-and-breakfast hotel has earned a reputation for its unsurpassed luxury, elegant design details and classically inspired charm. A coach house was added to the property in 1998 to expand the hotel’s service offering. Number TEN is currently leading the design of a new freestanding building addition to meet rising demand from travelers around the world.
The new building will increase the existing number of guestrooms on the property from 23 to 31. The addition will also provide a larger breakfast room for the hotel. An accessible elevator and ramp linking the existing and new building will allow the hotel to accommodate guests requiring accessible features.
Abigail’s Hotel has enjoyed year-over-year growth since 2010 and is experiencing record occupancies, as demand for boutique-style properties and experiences increase. The original 1930 apartment building also recently received Designated Heritage Building status with a successfully completed rezoning and development permit process.
Catering to couples, romantic getaways, special occasions and quiet retreats, Abigail’s Hotel has been ranked the #1 hotel in Victoria by Trip Advisor for the past nine years. It has also been ranked in the top 10 best small hotels, best romantic hotels and best service hotels in Canada by Trip Advisor’s annual Traveler’s Choice Awards since 2012, and is ranked amongst the top hotels in Canada by both Booking.com and Trivago.
