360 Main Street Transformation: KPMG’s Innovative Tenant Space in Downtown Winnipeg
Overlooking the vast landscape of downtown Winnipeg, KPMG’s new tenant space located on the 19th floor of 360 Main Street, incorporates a wide variety of design features.
The space showcases a welcoming elevator lobby and reception area, progressive open office layout, support spaces, and an innovative café space. By integrating a progressive workplace design strategy, the design team developed an innovative design solution while simultaneously establishing a unique identity for the Winnipeg location through the interior design and refined materiality.
Complete with a combination of porcelain tile and warm walnut wood tones, the sophisticated, yet elegant elevator lobby brings guests into the stunning reception area. Walnut and porcelain tile materiality seamlessly carry into this space, with a custom broken edge reception desk, built in coffee bar and bench, custom sofas, and views into two large training rooms.
The large café space consists of banquette style seating, a generous kitchen with an island, and plenty of café seats. This space provides employees with a relaxing place to take a break or collaborate with team members. A stunning ceiling/wall feature grounds the entire space, integrating KPMG’s branding while emulating the iconic prairie sunsets of Manitoba. The multi-functional café also acts as a flex space to host events, conveniently located adjacent to reception.
Collaboration spaces and focus rooms are integrated throughout the floor plan, supporting the open concept workplace design strategy.
All private offices are located along the perimeter of the building. Strategically planned, glazed demountable partitions were chosen for all office fronts, providing natural light and views of downtown Winnipeg for all internal open concept workstations. All workstations and private offices are equipped with sit-stand technology and ergonomic furniture, accommodating a wide variety of working styles. The center of the open work area consists of a metal perforated wall and ceiling feature, showcasing the skyline of Winnipeg.
