Technical Vocation High School Addition & Renovation
Winnipeg School Division
Technical Vocation High School
The two-story addition and renovation for the Technical Vocation High School provides additional resources for the schools ever-growing technical programs of Aviation and Aerospace, Innovative Manufacturing, and Welding Technology.
The Tech-Vocation High School Aerospace, Machine and Welding Shop (AMW) Addition features an elevated welding shop, with a loading platform, and two shared classrooms on the second floor to support skill development in computer software and composite work. The renovation consists of a new multi-purpose workshop with shared workspaces and sheet metal processing, a renewed machine shop, and restoration of three classrooms.
The exterior of the new addition is influenced by the existing school and its programs. The patterns in the masonry cladding are inspired by welding patterns, and the metal feature wall and signage on the front façade is to showcase the craft of students and highlight the unique programming within.
