In Memory of Alan (Al) Hanna
Founding Partner, Number TEN Architectural Group

We are deeply saddened by the passing of one of our founding partners, Alan (Al) Hanna, on May 16, 2025.

As a partner and a dedicated member of the firm for over four decades, Al played a pivotal role in shaping what would become Number TEN Architectural Group. From 1959 to 1997, his steady leadership, thoughtful guidance, and enduring passion for architecture helped define the culture and values that continue to guide our work today.

His notable projects include the award-winning Mendel Art Gallery and Conservatory in Saskatoon, the Churchill Townsite Redevelopment, and numerous school and housing projects in northern communities, many of which he reached as a licensed pilot, combining his love of flying with his architectural practice.

Al was recognized with numerous professional honours, including his election to the College of Fellows of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada in 1974 and a Life Membership from the Manitoba Association of Architects in 2002. But above all, it was his unwavering love for his family, friends, and colleagues that truly defined him.

Al, you will be deeply missed.
Thank you for what you started.
Your legacy is forever entrenched in the spirit of Number TEN.
