East District Police Station
At the time of its completion, the East District Police Station was the first new police station built in Winnipeg in over 40 years. Completed in 2008, the $11.8 million facility located in St. Boniface Industrial Park served to replace the existing Winnipeg Police stations in districts 4 and 5, consolidating their operations within a new, single-storey structure.
Central to the design plan was the incorporation of an array of security and safety features to protect the safety of officers and the general public. The facility contains protected, dedicated areas for police operations such as prisoner holding rooms, evidence processing labs, storage facilities and interview rooms. Operational on a 24/7 basis, the building also includes a variety of offices, staff lunch area, and an attached garage.
