YMCA YWCA Vaughn Street – Downtown Community Hub

YMCA/YWCA

A Modern Hub for Health, Fitness, and Meaningful Partnerships

Built in 1901, the existing building at 301 Vaughn Street is centrally located in the heart of the City of Winnipeg with a long history of serving the downtown community. Impacted dramatically by the pandemic, the YMCA/YWCA is undergoing a process of reimagining the services that the “Y” provides with a shift towards a community hub model, opening the opportunity to partner with local agencies and organizations while offering member based health, fitness and aquatics as well as childcare and centralized corporate offices.

Number TEN was engaged in late 2022 to undertake a functional programming process that would help the “Y” evaluate their current space needs against their future goals for growth, developing a capital master plan and phasing strategy that would provide the organization with a foundation for future planning.
